Call for NOMA-Detroit Executive Board Nominations


 

Are you interested in joining NOMA Detroit's 2017 Executive Board? We are looking for passionate, energetic, ready-to work members to make next year an exciting one! Items on the calendar include an Alvin Ailey Fundraiser, Project Pipeline, board game nights and other fun events. Open positions include President Elect, Secretary, Student Representative/Coordinator, along with 3 new positions Membership, Website, and Marketing. You must be a paid member to sit on the board. If you are not a current member we can walk you through the verification process in time to be considered for the position.

Even if your unsure we will let you know the expectations of the position and give you tools to be successful. Check out each position and let us know which one(s) you are interested and we can provide additional details.

President (Must be Licensed Architect)

Duties
 The President of NOMA Detroit shall be its Chairman of the board, and Chief Executive Officer and shall have the responsibility and authority for the day-to-day administration of the affairs of the organization under the general supervision of the Board of Directors, shall preside all meetings of the Board of Directors and shall have such other powers and perform such other duties as the Board of Directors prescribed in these By-Laws. 

Vice - President

Duties
 The Vice-President shall have such powers and perform such duties as the Board of Directors or President from time to time prescribes. In the absence or inability of the President, the Vice President shall be designated by the Board of Directors to perform the duties of the president, and when so acting, shall have all the powers of, and shall be subject to all restrictions upon the President. The Vice-President shall be the Chairman of the Planning committee.

Secretary (OPEN)

Duties
 The Secretary shall keep, or cause to be kept, minutes of the meeting of the Board of Directors and all committee meetings; sign minutes of these meetings and other instruments requiring the signature of the Secretary; and schedule all Board of Directors meetings and perform other duties incident to the office of Secretary.

Treasurer

Duties
 The treasurer shall be the Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee; and shall make financial reports at meetings of the Board, cause independent audits of the books and financial records as necessary, and perform all the duties incident to the office of the Treasurer. The Treasurer shall be Accounting Officer of NOMA Detroit and shall keep full and accurate accounts of all financial transactions in books belonging to NOMA Detroit.

President-Elect / Project Pipeline Coordinator  (OPEN but must be Licensed Architect)

Duties
   The President-Elect of NOMA Detroit shall observe and support the board of directors in it processes and activities.
   The President-Elect of NOMA Detroit shall also be its Chairman of Project Pipeline. The Chairman of the Project Pipeline shall report to the board of directors about major activities and action items of Project Pipeline as a whole, conduct and coordinate Project Pipeline Committee meetings, coordinate Project Pipeline events such as but not limited to Architecture Summer camps and student workshops, and set goals for the year for Project Pipeline as a whole.

Membership Chair (OPEN)

Duties
  The Membership Chair shall report to the board of directors about the membership, maintain member lists, work with board of directors to increase membership.  

Website Chair (OPEN)

Duties
 The Website Chair shall report to the board of directors about the website. Update website on the regular basis with meetings, event photos, and all prevalent NOMA Detroit information.

Marketing Chair (OPEN)

Duties
 The Marketing Chair shall report to the board of directors about planned event and outreach.  Marketing chair shall plan, schedule, coordinate, and conduct events, and marketing campaigns. Coordinate with Website Chair to update website with content.

Student Representative/Coordinator (OPEN)

Duties
 The Student Coordinator shall report to the board of directors about college student members.  Student Coordinator shall coordinate between local NOMAS chapters, maintain student member list, student events and promote NOMA Detroit to each college. A student of a college of Architecture or recent graduate is preferred for this role.
